A Report From the Tucumcari Bull Testing Station
December 5, 1988
INITIAL REPORT
28TH ANNUAL TUCUMCARI BULL TEST
The 28th annual test at the Tucumcari Bull Test facility was initiated October 24, with the
delivery of 139 bulls representing eight breeds. All 39 pens are full for the first time in several
years.
This will be the third consecutive year of a reduced test length, with a 112-day test replacing
the 140-day test we had the first 25 years of this endeavor. We will continue to feed daily a very
small portion of long stem grass hay to each bull We have felt this feeding stimulates the rumen
and helps control some of the minor digestive problems we've experienced in the past.
Mr. Bob Bonds is still feeding our bulls and is usually at the test facility. We invite you to stop
by at any time and see the bulls and visit with Bob.
Beef Breeding Seminar - is scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, in Tucumcari. Mark your
calendars and plan to attend. The program will be included in our next report.
