MOTION Has made by Mr. Gutierrez to rescind the old policy on employee participation in local and state government. Motion seconded by Mr. Apodaca and CARRIED unanimously. 1554 MOTION Has made by Mr. Apodaca requesting the administration to formulate some procedural guidelines to ensure the administration and University that they are kept abreast of any appointments or election to public bodies and commissions by employees and faculty members of the University. And, that part of the rules of the University be that any time a faculty member or employee is appointed to some public body or board or commission or is elected to some elective office that he notify some individual within the University sector and that the University administration formulate that procedure and that it ·be submitted to the Board for approval at a later meeting. Motion seconded by Mr. Gutierrez but to include ·that any time there was a conflict of interest that it be reported and also that the appointee or elected official report conflicts of interest Hhich in turn shoul·: be reported to ·the Board. Motion CARRIED unanimously. Dr. Thomas extended appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez for arrangements for the meeting in addition to their gracious hospitality. Present: Mr. R. L. Ahrens, President; Mr. Malcolm Garrett, Vice President· Mr. Avelino Gutierrez, and Mr. Rudy S. Apodaca. Absent: Mr. William R. Humphries. Representing the administration I<ere President Gerald W. Thomas and Vice President Robert E.
