OnR I I I september 21, 1925 Board t,iflutes The Board of Regents of the New Mexioo Oollege of Agricul ture and ueohanio Arts met in the offioe of the President of the Collage 1.1 Hadley Hall On September 21, 1925 at ten 0' clock upon oall of the Seoretat'y-Tl'easurert Mr. JaM Bingham. All members ,?f the Board were present. ~he Seoretary-Treasurer of the !Jonrd reported tm. t the sum of $15,000.00 in the possession of 'Mrs. K.D. staes, former Seol'otary- 2reasurer of the Board. whioh sum was held by the First National Bank at Santa Fe because of a lost certificate Of deposit, had not been turned over to the present secretary-Treasurer of the Board; whereupon the following rno tiOD was made I seoonded and carriedl It appearing that the sum of $15,000.00 in the possession of Mrs. K.D. Stoes, fanner Seoretary-Treasurer of the 30ard of Regents of the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Meohanio Arts has not been delivered to her sucoessor although demand therefor has been made by the present Secretal'y-'i'reasurer, theref"ore be it ordered that the Secretary-Treasurer of this Board make the deme.nd upon said K.D. Stoes for the sum of $15,000.00 or its equi'!ulent together with interest from October I, 1924, at three per cent per annum, and if the said money or its equivalent be not so produced that the Secretary-Treasurer refer this matter to the Attorney General of the state of New Mexico for appropriate action. The secretary-Treasurer of the Board reported that the amount Of n:cney in the bands of the Cashier of the College frequently exoeeded the amount of his bond, and recommended that in order to oomply wi th the law the Board authorize the increase of the bond of the Cashier from the present amount to ;:,n5,000.00 in order that it might be pOSSible to keep the total of :funds in the hands of the Cushier below the amolUlt of his bond. Thereupon the fallowing motion was duely made, seconded and carried. Ordered that the bond of the Cashier be required in the amount of $15,000.00 and that the Secretary-Treasurer be instructed that at no time shall he allow more than the Sl.Dll of $15,000.00 to become subject to the checks of suoh cashier. Upon reoormnendation of the President of the College, by motion duely made, seoonded and oarried. the Board authorized the budgeting of state General funds in the amount of $1200 fa be used for binding in the libraT'J, and .$1000 to be used in the repair of the old adove farm buildings and $1000 to be used for building pens, sheds, racks and feed barns for goats, provided that $500 of this last amount may be taken from state Station funds if the President of the .Jollege and the Director of the Experiment Station see fit. 'fue President of the College reoomneuded that the ~oard grant a year's leave of absence without pay to Professor G.A. 1'eather of the Sp;mish Departroont for study in Europe. ':'he recormnendation was approved by proper motion. It_. was then moved, secmded and oarried that the following recomnendations of the President of the Oollege be approved: A. !.irs. Elinor D. Robson is appointed acting head Of the Department Of Modern Languages for the college year 1925-26, at $2200 for nine months, effective September 1, 192~. B. Ur. W.F. Diokson is appOinted assistant professor of Animal Husbandry at a salary of $2100 for 12 months, effeotive .July 1, 1925. C. Mrs. Jennie E. Lee is appointed instruotor in shorthand and typewriting at a salary of $1000 for 9 months, effeotive September 1, 1926. D. Mr. W.P. Heinzman is appointed assistant in nlathematics at a salary of $1600 for 9 months, effecti.ve September 1, 1925. E. til'. J .W. Rigney is appointed part time instructor in hOrticulture at a salary of $1500 for 9 months, effectiVe sept. 1, 1925. 401
