Subject: El Paso Science Seminar (Grades 10, 11, and 12)

This Seminar includes ninety honor students in the El Paso High Schools.
Attached are materials explaining the program.
The Vice President did not have time to contact you prior to his departure
for the hospital and requested that 1 organize the NMSU effort. He suggested
your name knowing of your interest in attracting able youngsters to the
University and to your department.
The ninety students meet in seminar each Wednesday evening for two hours.
One week the seminar is open to the public and the next week the seminar is
for the.ninety honor students only, however, the honor students attend each
week.
Mr. Frank I. Gary, Coordinator, Department of Instruction for the KL
Paso Schools, has requested the services of outstanding scientists from NMSU
for some of the seminars. He says that demonstration-lecture sessions have
been the best sessions thus far.
If you are willing to participate in this program, please choose two
Wednesdays between now and January and send to my office on or before Thursday,
October U.
Mr. Gary will choose one of the dates which you suggest and inform you
accordingly.
