Dear Clyde,
I hope you and Mrs. Tombaugh are well. I am very much looking
forward to your visit to TucsonJ
Here is a proposed schedule, including evemts that have already
been worked out. I have not been able to reach Brad Smith* perhaps you
will be able to oontact him directly. Lonny did speak to James Christy,
who would be happy to appear in some, way with you during one or both of
your talks.
Sunday, April 3: I shall expect you at my home, perhaps in the evening.
Of course, you may wish bo arrive a day or two earlier, or even on Monday*
To reach my home, exit L-16 at exit 275, Houghton Road. Take Houghton
South, and proceed about ^ miles until you reach Corona de Bucson.
After you pass a small church on the right side, continue two more streets
on Houghton until you reach Carey- Street. Turn right on Carey; my
home is a few houses down, on the right side, at 120 Carey.
Monday, April 4: 7>30 pm: Your talk for the Tucson Amateur Astnonomy
Association(this time may be changed to 8 pm); tentative titlet An Evening
itifch Pluto.
Tuesday, April 5<
liOO p.m. Tentative time set for a Press Conference at the Planetarium.
We hope and will try to make this your only meeting with the press. Is the
time and place all right for you? Perhaps you may want to meet with
Brad after the press conference.
8:00 pm. lour Presentation for "Eyes on the Universe" at the Planetarium.
Wednesday, April 6:
11:00 am or thereabouts: We meet at the Planetarium and proceed from
there for a specially-arranged tour of KPNO, emphasizing the 4m telescope.
7:00 or thereabouts1 Dinner with TAAA Executive plus a couple of
people from the Planetarium. 1
