Dear Dr. Tombaugh,
The Hutchinson Planetarium is now preparing a production
titled "The Search for Planet X | based on Tony Simon's book and to be presented in central Kansas in March ( in celebration of the Uranus and Pluto
discovery anniversaries). The show will touch on the discovery of Uranus
and Neptune but the highlight deals with your search and discovery of the
planet Pluto. This is also the first time that a planetarium presentation
on your discovery of Pluto is presented in the state of Kansas.
Because you are formerly from Kansas and one of the State's
most famous personalities, we are wondering if you would be willing to participate in our show by telling in your own words and voice of your early
days in Kansas and of the events on the day you discovered the planet Pluto.
This show is for the school boys and girls and the general public of Kansas
and we feel that your participation in this show would add a great deal to
the exciting story of your planet discovery.
Your participation in the show will probably not be more
than 15 minutes of the show's length so that, hopefully, this will not infringe
too much on your busy schedule.
Simon, Tony. Search for Planet X; Invitation cards; Speeches, addresses, etc.; School children; Discoveries in science
