Dear Dr. Tombaugh,
I got your address from a friend of mine, Mr. Tony Heinzman of Apple
Valley, CA. I feel that I have known you for a long time, however, since I
read about you when I was in school in Kansas. 1 am writing to express
what an honor it would be if you are able to contribute a long or short article, or even a greeting for an upcoming issue of a journal I edit. The winter issue of The Earth Scientist will focus on astronomy. I hope you will
consider using your expertise to contribute to the issue.
The Earth Scientist is the journal of the National Earth Science Teachers Assoociation, an organization of over 1100 teachers nationwide. 1 am
sending a back issue so you can see the kinds of things we publish. I have
included author guidelines. If your submission is not on disk, we can type it
in. The deadline is November 1, but I could extend that slightly if I knew
what you had in the works. I would be willing to talk to you about this
request after September 13. I can be reached at 909-880-5623.
Sincerely,
r~
