Dear Dr. Tombaugh,
It is with great pleasure that I write today to tell you how delighted the
staff of the Planetarium is that you have agreed to visit Tucson next
spring and present a talk in our "Eyes on the Universe" series.
David Levy suggested to me that April would be the best time for you to travel , so I have set aside 2 dates for your consideration. April 5 and April 19
are the dates scheduled for talks. Alternate Tuesdays (the 12th and 26th)
are scheduled for Spring Sky programs. We can accommodate you either of these
nights if they are preferable.
The "Eyes on the Universe" series has just begun its 4th year and remains
an attraction to both members of the community and to winter visitors, many
of whom attend our programs on a weekly basis. Many are serious amateur
astronomers, while others wish to be kept informed about current research
in astronomy and planetary sciences. I know they will look forward to your
presentation.
The Tucson Amateur Astronomers Association (TAAA) will cosponsor your visit
to Tucson. David will contact you about travel arrangements after he returns to Tucson in October.
At your earliest convenience, I would appreciate both a confirmed date and
a title for your talk. I would like to send the schedule to the printers
by October 5. I am enclosing several of our earlier brochures for your information.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and working with you in '83.
Sincerely,
&M^
