Dr. Thomas proposed dedicating the solar house in honor of Mr. Seaborn P. Collins and awarding him the Regents' Medal at a convenient time next fall. The name for the solar energy house recommended by the University Administrative Council was Collins' Casa del Sol. A fall meeting to bestow the Regents' Medal and dedicate the solar house was recommended by Dr. Thomas to heighten the distinction to Mr. Collins at a time less cluttered with other programs. MOTION was made by Mr. Garrett approving awarding of the Regents Medal to Mr. Seaborn Collins, and to name the solar house the Collins' Casa del Sol. Motion seconded by Mr. Humphries and CARRIED unanimously. The search committee to select a Personnel Director is in progress and 100 applicants have applied. The selection may be possible by early April. The freeze on reclassification is still in effect and a committee has been appointed to study some of the problems in the Personnel Office. Present: Mr. R. L. Ahrens, President; Mr. Malcolm Garrett, Vice President; Mr. William R. Humphries, Secretary-Treasurer; Mr. Avelino Gutierrez and Mr. R.udy S. Apodaca, members. Others present were: President Gerald W. Thomas; Dean of Continuing Education, Lowery Davis; Director of the NMSU Carlsbad Campus, Gary Sj~lS; and the Pr.esident of AS NMSU, Tom Murray. President Thomas presented the following items: I. TORT CLAIMS ACT: Pursuant to the Tor.t Claims Act passed by the 1976 Legislature, the Department of Finance & Administration has bid the liability insurance policy which included the universiti.es. Dr. Thomas raised the question of New Mexico State University's participation in this program. After discussion, MOTION was made by Mr. Gutierrez "authorizi.ng the administration to check details and make the decision to retain the present University insurance policies or come under the State policy. Motion seconded by Mr. Garrett and CARRIED unanimously. 1597
