SUBJECT: Request for Driving Teat and Drivers Permit for Air Fore* Vehicle
(1) New Mexico State University Research Center is the contractor for
conducting studies on atmospheric seeing at a site approximately three miles
north of Cioudcroft, Sew Mexico for the Air Force Cambridge Research
Laboratories at the Laurence G. Hanscoa Field, Bedford, Massachusetts.
ft) A request for a suitable vehicle to transport station personnel from
Cloudcroft to "seeing site" and return was and* to Hollomaa Air Force Base by
Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories. It is understood that it was possible
for Holiftmen to great this request. Consequently, It will be necessary for the
two observers, Mr. Charles F. Capon, Jr., and Mr. James Hartsell to take tests
for driving a military vehicle of the "Weapons Carrier" class. Application for
taking the tests and issuance of a Military Vehicle Permit for Mr. Cspen and
Mr. Hartsell is requested by the Project Supervisor.
(3) This memorandum is hand-carried by Mr. Capen.
